I tried the WHOLE menu.... and let me tell you, everything was good. To the customer service, to getting our food at a reasonable time and the quality of the food I wish I could give this 10 stars. You won’t be disappointed, the horchata is mouthwatering. I drank a big cup of it and still wanted more and more. I love this place, it was well worth the drive.

The birria here hits different. This is probably one of my favorite spots to eat in the Chicagoland area; great for tacos and birria. Just use the red salsa sparingly on your food, it has a big kick to it.

The Story

Since 1973 the original Birria of Chicago. Founded by Ramon Reyes of Ocotlan, Jalisco. Family operated - owned establishment. 4007 E 106th st - 8726 S. Commercial.

The Birria served at Birrierias Ocotlan has been the same recipe used since the early 1900’s. This family tradition was originated by Tereso Reyes, grandfather to Ramon. In 1973 with the help of Ramon’s Dad Andres Reyes, the first ever Birrieria in Chicago came to light. From there on the rest is history!
